We are proud to announce the opening of our new childcare location at IKC Atalanta in Heerhugowaard! From 22 September, we officially open our doors and warmly welcome children into a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
Kinderopvang Atalanta is a place where children can develop through play in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. We believe in small-scale care and personal attention. Every child is truly seen and heard. By working with familiar faces and small groups, we create a trusted atmosphere where children feel at ease.
An important advantage is our close collaboration with Integraal Kindcentrum (IKC) Atalanta. This ensures that childcare and education connect seamlessly. This provides calm, clarity and a smooth transition to primary school when the time comes.
We also like to make things easy for parents. We offer extended opening hours that suit various work schedules, communicate clearly and use a parent portal. Through this portal, you stay informed daily with messages, photos and updates about your child.

Violations
- Early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie/VE): Children with a VE-indication were not always placed in the registered VE-group, meaning they did not receive the required offer of 960 hours. Not all staff members on the vertical group were VE-qualified. The location resolved this by allowing the VE-indication for the children in question to lapse and placing them in the VE-group for four mornings per week.
- Health and safety policy (veiligheids- en gezondheidsbeleid): Staff members washed their hands in the kitchen after changing children, where bottle feeding was also prepared, in violation of the hygiene code. The location remedied this by relocating handwashing to the children's toilets and hanging up a poster as a reminder.
Summary
KDV Atalanta in Heerhugowaard, part of Stichting Allente opvang, was inspected on 2 July 2026 by GGD Hollands Noorden on behalf of municipality Dijk en Waard. This was an unannounced follow-up investigation into two previously identified violations from the annual inspection of January 2026. The location provides care for 32 children aged 0 to 4 years in two core groups, including early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie/VE).
