Ons Speelhuis PG

Welcome to Ons Speelhuis, the toddler group located at Flamingoweg 53 in Vlissingen. We offer horizontal toddler groups for children aged 2 to 4 years. Each group welcomes a maximum of 16 children, divided into two groups of 8 children with 1 or 2 dedicated pedagogical staff members per group. Our location is part of Stichting Kinderopvang Walcheren and works closely with primary school De Wissel, together forming an Integral Child Centre. Everything we do is centred around learning through play. We work thematically and provide a predictable, safe structure in which children can explore and develop independently. Every morning starts with a circle time where we use Puk daily-rhythm cards to discuss what the day will bring. Afterwards, children can choose: build with construction materials, do a puzzle, draw or play in one of the themed corners. We alternate seated and movement activities and go outside every day. Our outdoor area offers plenty of opportunities to climb, cycle, run and play in the sandbox. We pay great attention to language and motor development. Toddlers from 3.5 years onwards may spend one hour a week in group 1/2 of De Wissel, making the transition to primary school easier later on. We also use the school gym for movement activities and circle games. Excursions to the nearby shopping centre or animals are part of our possibilities. Parental involvement is important to us. During drop-off and pick-up moments we inform parents about the day. We organise parent meetings and provide theme letters so parents can continue our activities at home. Upon departure, parents receive the child file and, for children with an early-education indication, the Kijk! registration for a warm hand-over to school. Our goal is to offer every child a pleasant place where they feel safe and can fully discover, play and learn.
