About this care
KDV De Wonderwolk is a small-scale Christian daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) in the Rotterdam neighbourhood of Pendrecht, at Kloosterzandestraat 4. We offer daycare for children from 0 to 4 years old, with lots of attention for love, respect and individuality. Our Christian identity forms the basis of everything we do: every child is welcome and is allowed to develop at their own pace.
We work with the Uk & Puk method, an Early Childhood Education programme that stimulates broad development through playful learning. Every six weeks we introduce a new theme, with matching songs, rhymes, crafts and activities. Our childcare staff provide a language-rich play and learning environment that connects with your child's world of experience.
We make music and sing every day. Once a week, the pastor of the church community Zout der Aarde visits to read a children's Bible story and make live music with his guitar. Outdoor play takes place on our beautiful green outdoor playground with a play hill, slide and sand and water play facilities. For the very youngest, there is a special baby garden where they can play safely outside.
We have two vertical groups: De Wonderwolkjes (8 places, 0-4 years) and De Zonnestraaltjes (16 places, 0-4 years). A fixed and familiar team ensures continuity. During the settling-in period, we schedule two settling-in sessions and your child gets a fixed mentor. For the transition to primary school and after-school care (BSO), we ensure a warm handover. Settling in
We like to take the time for a good settling-in period. During the intake interview, the childcare worker will schedule 2 settling-in moments with you. This way, your child gets used to the sounds, smells and atmosphere of the daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV). The regular mentor provides a familiar face and is your point of contact for all your questions.

Summary
Kindercentrum De Wonderwolk B.V. provides daycare for 24 children (ages 0–4) in two groups, including subsidized early childhood education. The annual inspection visit on 13-11-2025 shows that the center meets most quality requirements: pedagogical policy and practice are in order, staff are properly qualified and deployed, and safety and health policies are in place. There were two violations: the pedagogical policy plan contained insufficiently concrete guidelines for materials and room layout in early childhood education, and staff had inadequate knowledge of mandatory reporting, consultation, and disclosure obligations. Both violations were resolved within the set deadline through a recovery offer; the amended policy and an action plan were submitted and approved. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to take enforcement steps.
