About this care
Kindcentrum De Halm Almkerk is a Christian Integrated Child Center (IKC) in the heart of Almkerk, where childcare and education seamlessly come together. We provide daycare for children aged 0 to 4 years in a warm, safe environment fully tailored to the needs of young children. Together with De Halm Primary School, we form one close-knit child center, allowing your child to grow up in one familiar place from infancy through primary school.
Our childcare staff work from Christian values and provide each child with personal attention and loving care. We believe that children develop optimally when they feel safe and loved. In our vertical groups, children of different ages learn from each other and develop social skills naturally.
With us, children can enjoy playing outside in our own garden, where they can romp with friends and discover nature. Inside, there are cozy play areas set up where children can do crafts, build and develop their creativity and fine motor skills through play. We work with themes that connect to the world of young children and later seamlessly connect to the kindergarten groups of our primary school.
The transition from our daycare to the toddler and kindergarten groups is made extra smooth because we use the same spaces, materials and learning lines. Your child grows up in a familiar environment with familiar faces, which makes the transition to primary school much less exciting. Even if you later choose a different primary school, your child is welcome at our daycare.

Summary
The annual inspection by GGD West-Brabant of Kindcentrum De Halm Almkerk, a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for 16 children (0-4 years) operated by Stichting Kibeo, showed a largely positive picture. The pedagogical climate fully meets the requirements: childcare professionals provide calm, attentive guidance, use daily routine cards, and stimulate self-reliance and language development. Pre-school education with the Uk and Puk programme is well structured. However, two violations have been established. First, specific written parental consent is missing for structural care in another core group; the general consent in the childcare agreement is insufficient. Second, the alternative parent consultation is inadequate: price changes and the amended pedagogical policy (April 2026) were not submitted to parents in advance with a response period. The holder objected to this, but the Municipal Health Service (GGD) maintains its assessment.
