Summary

Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Duizendkidts in Geleen was inspected unannounced on 20 October 2025. The premises were found to have 100 m² of indoor space, sufficient for a maximum of 28 childcare places but not for the originally registered 29. Following a recovery offer, the number of places in the National Register has been adjusted to 28; the violation has thereby been lifted. Furthermore, the rooms are safe, age-appropriately arranged, and equipped with separate sleeping and sanitary facilities. The outdoor play areas are still under development; the toddler group temporarily uses the school playground. No other shortcomings were identified. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to pursue enforcement.
