Het Speelkasteel in Apeldoorn, a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for 50 children (0-4 years) operated by Fris! Kinderopvang (Toverfluit B.V.), was inspected on 7 July 2026 by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Noord- en Oost-Gelderland. The unannounced annual inspection showed that the location meets all assessed quality requirements. The pedagogical practice is rated positively: staff act sensitively and responsively, children are given space for independent play and are stimulated linguistically. In the area of personnel and groups, all requirements regarding Certificates of Conduct (VOG), registration in the persons register, qualification requirements and staff-child ratios are in order. The safety and health policy is adequate, with good arrangements regarding ventilation, hand hygiene, safe sleeping and the four-eyes principle. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The GGD advises the municipality of Apeldoorn not to take enforcement action.
