Welcome to De Kleine Wereld Nieuwendammerdijk, a trusted daycare facility in the heart of Amsterdam-Noord. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely and safe environment. Our daycare center has 27 places for children and is open daily from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
Our location at Nieuwendammerdijk 465 is just a five-minute walk from the beautiful Vliegenbos park. The children can enjoy our spacious courtyard garden at the back of the building every day. This garden is equipped with playground equipment and various corners with play materials, where children can romp, explore, and play in the fresh air.
At De Kleine Wereld, we understand that childcare is much more than just childcare. A child's development is continuous, so we all work together. Our team of qualified pedagogical staff is led by location manager Mariska Bekker. Together, we create an environment where every child feels safe and at home, with space to grow and flourish at their own pace.

Strengths
- Pedagogical practice provides emotional safety and personal attention for children
- Staff members are loving, sensitive and responsive in their interactions with children
- Encouragement of personal skills, language development and independence
- Good information sharing with parents and trusted relationship with regular substitute staff
- Sufficient staff-to-child ratio at the time of inspection
- All employees hold appropriate qualifications and Certificates of Good Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag)
Shortcomings
- Policy on care in a second core group may lead to violation of staff-to-child ratio
- Pedagogical work plan contained incorrect calculation of minimum hours for pedagogical policy development and coaching (corrected in practice)
- Vulnerable staffing situation with structural use of self-employed workers (zzp'ers) due to vacancies and prolonged absence
Violations
- Insufficient assurance that structurally deployed temporary workers receive annual coaching
- Safe sleeping: baby placed on stomach without correct consent form according to protocol; parents had merely ticked an option without justification and risk warning
- Four-eyes principle insufficiently secured: between 7:30-7:45 a.m. only one staff member was sometimes present without guarantee that this person could be seen/heard
- Safety and Health Policy was insufficiently up to date: former location manager was still listed as emergency backup
