About this care
Welcome to De Hummelhoeve, a small-scale daycare center on the outskirts of Dongen. We provide care in two vertical groups for children aged 0 to 4 years. Our small-scale approach creates a homely atmosphere where every child feels safe and secure.
Outdoor play is central to our philosophy. Our spacious playground invites exploration and movement. Children have the opportunity to interact with chickens, horses and goats. Caring for these animals is an important part of our daily program. We believe it's essential for children to spend plenty of time outdoors in nature. The fresh air and natural environment contribute to their development and well-being.
Our pedagogical staff organize age-appropriate activities. We sing songs, play games and do crafts. These activities are designed to stimulate the development of babies, toddlers and preschoolers. We provide fresh meals and ensure a quiet sleeping area where children can rest.
De Hummelhoeve is located at Laagstraat 62 in Dongen. We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Our location is officially registered in the National Childcare Register and is supervised by the GGD. We maintain a fixed staff-child ratio to ensure the safety and quality of care.Read more

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Hummelhoeve in Dongen was inspected on 26 March 2026 by GGD Hart voor Brabant. This small-scale childcare location for 30 children (ages 0-4) meets all assessed quality requirements in the areas of pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights. The pedagogical approach is implemented well in practice, as observed during the calm mealtime where staff paid attention to the children. Staff are correctly registered and qualified, including certificates for first aid and infant care (babyscholing). Child-to-staff ratios are well maintained. The safety and health policy is comprehensive and up-to-date, with protocols covering safe sleeping and child abuse, among other topics. No official complaints were submitted in 2025. Recovery offers (herstelaanbod) were made previously in the inspection history (2024 and 2025), but these related to earlier inspections and have since been resolved. No violations or areas for improvement were identified in the current inspection.
