About this care

AI
Starting 1 April 2025 we open a brand-new toddler group at Dak Baambrug in Escamp for children aged 2–4. We are open in the mornings to offer your child a safe, home-like place to play, explore and grow. Our toddler care follows the Dutch “voorschoolse educatie” (VE) programme. Through play we focus on early language, numeracy, motor and social skills using recognised methods. We work closely with local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition when your child turns four. The group is small and familiar. The same qualified staff greet your child every day, so we quickly learn what each individual needs. The bright rooms contain cosy corners for reading, building, crafts and quiet time. A secure outdoor area is directly accessible for daily fresh air and movement. We value calm routines. A typical morning includes free play, circle time with songs, outdoor play, fruit and a moment to rest. Parents can book one or more mornings per week to suit family life. Feel welcome to visit us one morning for an informal tour and a chat about how we can support your toddler’s development.

The location generally meets the statutory quality requirements. The pedagogical practice is of a good standard. There was one violation regarding early childhood education, which has since been resolved through a recovery offer.

Strengths

  • Pedagogical practice safeguards the four core objectives: emotional security, personal competence, social competence, and transfer of norms and values
  • Staff work responsively and consciously stimulate language development
  • Group room is attractively arranged with diverse play corners and predominantly wooden toys
  • Sufficient indoor and outdoor space (67.1 m² indoor, 353.4 m² outdoor)
  • All staff hold the correct qualifications, Certificate of Conduct (VOG), and registration in the PRK
  • Safety and health policy is up to date and adhered to
  • Parents are well informed via the Jaamo parent app and website

Violations

  • The early childhood education training plan was not described with sufficient specificity on five points: working with the VVE programme, stimulating development, monitoring and adjusting to development, involving parents, and transition to primary school

Summary

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) annual inspection of 13 January 2026 of daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Dak Baam brug in Den Haag presents a predominantly positive picture. The location, part of Stichting DAK kindercentra, provides early childhood education to a maximum of 16 children aged 2–4 years using the Uk en Puk VVE programme. The pedagogical practice is satisfactory: staff work responsively, stimulate language development and social behaviour, and the group room is attractively arranged. However, a violation was identified regarding early childhood education: the training plan was not described with sufficient specificity. The holder made use of a recovery offer and resolved the violation within the deadline. All other areas, including personnel, safety, accommodation, and parental rights, meet the statutory requirements. The GGD advises no enforcement action.
