About this care
Jansens Apenkooi is a small-scale after-school care (BSO) run by Kinderparadijs Jansen & Jansen, located at Prinses Margrietstraat 124 in Utrecht. We provide care for up to 43 primary-school children aged 4 to 12. The location is organised into three base groups, ensuring personal attention and a homely atmosphere. Our doors remain open until 18:30 every weekday, giving parents the flexibility to finish work while their children are in trusted hands.
At Jansens Apenkooi the child is always at the centre. We offer a safe and stimulating environment where children can relax, play and discover new things after school. Our qualified pedagogical staff guide the children with care and respect, making every child feel seen and heard. Thanks to our small scale, we know each child well and can respond to individual needs and interests.
The location has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) under number 165054499 since 1 July 2024. We work according to the vision of Kinderparadijs Jansen & Jansen: children are given space to develop at their own pace, with play, creativity and social skills at the heart of everything we do.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 13 July 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Jansens Apenkooi in Utrecht, part of J&J2 B.V. The location provides care for 43 children at primary school De Cirkel. Overall, the BSO meets the quality requirements of the Childcare Act. The pedagogical policy is in place and being implemented, the Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) registration is in order, and the safety and health policy is up-to-date and being followed. One violation was identified: the provider has not established a valid parent committee. However, demonstrable efforts have been made to recruit parents through flyers, newsletters, the parent portal, and personal outreach. Parents are involved in important decisions through other means. The GGD advises against enforcement action due to these efforts. The location coordinator committed on-site to immediately replace defective safety covers on electrical outlets.
