About this care
Welcome to KDV De Westerburcht in Eelde. We are located in the modern building of primary school De Westerburcht, situated between the Bloemenbuurt and Spierveen neighborhoods. Our facility provides daycare for children aged 0 to 4 years in a safe and familiar environment.
At our centre, everything revolves around playing and discovering together. Children make friends, learn about boundaries and develop naturally through play. Our qualified pedagogical staff are ready to give every child the attention and care they need. We work with fixed groups, creating a calm and recognisable setting for the children. Flexible childcare is not available; we opt for fixed days so that both children and parents know exactly what to expect.
Our daycare is part of the Integral Child Centre (IKC) De Westerburcht. This means we form one team together with the primary school and after-school care, sharing the same building and the same vision: offering children from 0 to 13 years the best possible developmental opportunities. The transition from daycare to toddler or kindergarten groups is therefore smooth and familiar.

The annual inspection by GGD Drenthe of daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Eelde IKC De Westerburcht, located in primary school De Westerburcht, shows that the location meets all assessed quality requirements in the areas of pedagogical climate and staff and groups. The 14 childcare places for children aged 0-4 are accommodated in one base group. During the observation at approximately 2:00 PM, the children appeared emotionally secure and relaxed. The staff maintain warm relationships, stimulate independence and guide social interactions effectively. All staff hold valid Certificates of Conduct (Verklaringen omtrent het Gedrag/VOG) and meet educational requirements. The pedagogical policy worker and coach are deployed according to the regulations. The location has a history of violations in 2022 and 2023, but has consistently met the requirements since 2024. The advice to the municipality of Tynaarlo is no enforcement.
