Welcome to BSO De Kasteelpoort, located in primary school Ummer Clumme at Wil Houbenhof 1 in Klimmen. For years we have been a trusted place for children in the area. Our location is small-scale and homely, making children feel at home quickly. At the same time, we offer plenty of space to discover and develop talents.
Together with the children, we organize the most enjoyable activities. We love going outside to run and climb, but there is also plenty of opportunity to do crafts inside. The children actively help decide what we are going to do, so the offer always matches their interests. We also work together with local associations, allowing us to offer a varied program.
Our pedagogical staff are ready every day to pick up the children from school and give them a pleasant afternoon. We offer pre-school care and are also open during holidays from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. After-school care (BSO) De Kasteelpoort in Klimmen, part of Stichting Humankind, was inspected by GGD Zuid-Limburg on 16 July 2026. The location, housed in the new multifunctional building Open Club Klimmen, provides care for a maximum of 66 children aged 4 to 13 years in three base groups. The annual inspection shows that the location meets all assessed quality requirements in the areas of pedagogical climate, staff and groups, accommodation, and parental rights. The pedagogical practice aligns with the established policy. The staff-to-child ratio is in order, all employees are registered in the personnel register, and each child has a permanent mentor. The indoor and outdoor areas are generously sized and well-designed. The parent committee functions satisfactorily and the complaints procedure is in order. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The previous annual inspection in 2023 resulted in a recovery offer for the stability of the care, which then led to the desired outcome. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality of Voerendaal not to take enforcement action.
