Welcome to Kinderopvang Huisje Boompje Beestje (from 2026: Kinderopvang Vrije Vogels) located at Stevinstraat 125 in The Hague. This is our very first location, established in 2016 in a characteristic townhouse in the heart of the city. We provide small-scale childcare for up to 12 children per day in one vertical group for ages 0-4 years, with a maximum of 1 baby per day. Our location is designed as a real family home, with the living room serving as the central gathering place for children. We work with natural materials and sustainable toys, with environmental awareness at the core. Every day we go outside through the front door - to the dunes, forests, parks or museums - to explore the surroundings and learn from urban nature. Experiencing the seasons is central to our approach. We bake our own bread daily with organic ingredients, use organic food, and carefully set the table for shared meals. Children learn through direct experience and are challenged in their development by our qualified pedagogical staff. As a small-scale childcare facility, we can truly give attention to each child. We work with a fixed team of 4 staff members who work self-managingly. Our pedagogy has connections with anthroposophical views and we use the Gordon method for communication. We offer a minimum of 2 and maximum of 4 care days per week, because we believe a child should not see us more often than their parents.
