About this care
BSO Hortus is located in primary school De Hortus in Boskoop and provides after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 years. We have two dedicated rooms within the school, including a doll corner, construction corner, and chill corner. The second room is specially designed to meet the needs and preferences of children aged 7 and older. Additionally, we have access to the school's gymnasium. Children are free to play, but we also organize daily activities such as creative activities, sports, dance, reading sessions, and games. Throughout the year, we work with themes and during holidays, we link activities or outings to these themes. For children who wish, there is an opportunity to do homework in a quiet area in consultation with parents. Children can enjoy playing outside on the large playground next to the school, which has play equipment and a sandbox. We collaborate as much as possible with the school, for example by working with the same themes and consulting with teachers. Summary
BSO Hortus in Boskoop, part of Kind & Co Ludens, was inspected on 16 July 2026 by GGD Hollands Midden (Municipal Health Service). The after-school care (BSO) accommodates 44 children aged 4 years to the end of primary school and is located in a primary school with two group rooms, a gymnasium, and a school playground. The unannounced annual inspection showed that the location meets all assessed quality requirements regarding pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health. The pedagogical practice was assessed positively: staff members create an emotionally safe atmosphere, communicate respectfully with children, and guide them in learning rules and independence. The Certificate of Conduct (VOG) registration, qualification requirements, and staff-to-child ratio were also in order. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The holder responded in agreement with the findings.
