About this care
Welcome to Tienercentrum Tiens, located in the heart of Bussum at Herenstraat 6A. Our center is part of SKBNM, a social childcare organization that has been active in the Gooise Meren region since 1982. We provide after-school care specifically designed for teenagers aged 10 to 14.
At Tiens, we understand that teenagers need freedom, responsibility, and activities that match their interests. Our pedagogical staff are specially trained to work with this age group and create an atmosphere where teenagers can be themselves. We have four group rooms, a kitchen, art studio, game room, and a sports and games hall. Our indoor courtyard with table tennis table and fire pits offers a relaxed place to chill, while the outdoor area is perfect for basketball, football, and other sports activities.
Our activity program is diverse and tailored to what teenagers enjoy. Think of playing games together like Expedition Robinson, pool, listening to music, or making beats. During school holidays, we organize special trips to places like Oud Valkeveen, the ice rink in Bussum, or excursions with the forest ranger. These holiday activities are included and cost nothing extra.
We work with a Parent Portal that keeps parents informed of the activity program and allows them to view photos. Parents can also contact our pedagogical staff directly. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday from the end of school until 6:00 PM. During holidays and study days, we are open from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM.Read more

Summary
Het Tienercentrum in Bussum, an after-school care (BSO) with 120 registered childcare places, has completed its annual inspection. The inspection took place on 10 November 2025. The pedagogical climate was assessed positively: the pedagogical policy is complete, and practice provides emotional safety, notably through engaged childcare professionals who actively involve children in activities. Personnel matters are also in order: all staff members are properly registered, hold the required diplomas, and the staff-child ratio is correct. However, two violations were identified. First, there was no fixed moment for children to gather with their regular home group, which undermines stability of care. Second, there was insufficient indoor play space (374.62 m² instead of the required 420 m² for 120 places). Both violations have since been resolved following a recovery offer from the Municipal Health Service (GGD): a fixed group moment has now been scheduled, and two additional rooms (49.92 m²) have been set up, bringing the location's total indoor play space to 424.54 m². The municipality of Gooise Meren is advised not to take enforcement action.
