Welcome to Peuteropvang het Rupsje at Frankrijklaan 2 in Heemskerk. We are part of Kindcentrum de Vlinder, under Stichting Tabijn. Our preschool group cares for a maximum of 16 children aged 2 to 4 years, Monday through Thursday from 08:20 to 12:30. Children discover the world around them through play. We work with the VVE programme Speelplezier, using themes to expand vocabulary. Our themes align with those in the reception classes to ensure a smooth transition to primary school. Toddler and reception teachers prepare the themes together. We offer a mixed group where children with and without a VVE indication play and learn together. We stimulate broad development: language, motor skills, creativity and social-emotional skills. We go outside daily for running, climbing and playing. We also use the play hall for movement activities. For fine motor skills we do crafts, puzzles and building. At De Vlinder we use Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS), teaching and rewarding positive behaviour. Toddlers take their first steps in this approach. They learn for example that we clean up together after playing. We give plenty of compliments when things go well. Good cooperation with parents is essential to us.
