About this care
Hero BSO Zeedistelweg is a welcoming after-school care facility located in Haarlem-South/West, sharing a building with our daycare center at Zeedistelweg 4. We provide care for up to 30 children aged 4 to 12 years. Our location features a spacious play hall and a natural outdoor playground where children can truly be themselves after school.
Children can choose from a wide range of activities at our BSO. We organize creative workshops, cooking activities, and sports games, but there's also plenty of space to simply relax with friends or read a book. We believe every child is unique, so we let children decide for themselves what they feel like doing. Our pedagogical staff are ready to join in, help think along, or take a step back when children need their own space.
We work with vertical groups, allowing children of different ages to play together and learn from each other. Upon arrival, there's always a healthy snack ready so children can unwind from their school day and share how their day went. During school holidays, we offer an extensive holiday program with fun outings and activities.
Our location collaborates with primary schools in the immediate vicinity, allowing us to pick up children after school. We're located near the Marsmanplein shopping center and have generous opening hours from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Kennemerland conducted an inspection on 28 October 2025 at Sportfever SportBSO Alliance in Haarlem, an after-school care (buitenschoolse opvang/BSO) for children aged 4-13. The inspection took place during an emergency situation: due to a fire at another location (Sportfever de Hout), two locations were merged and an expansion from 30 to 66 childcare places was requested. Almost all quality requirements were met, including staff, safety, accommodation and parental rights. One violation was identified in the area of pedagogical practice: during the table moment, there was insufficient interaction and overly directive communication by staff members. Given the exceptional circumstances (second day after merger), the holder was offered a recovery offer. This was successfully completed through coaching, workshops, appointing a team leader and introducing a 'chat jar' (kletspot). The violation has been resolved. The GGD advises the municipality not to enforce and to approve the expansion.
