About this care
Hero BSO Nagtzaamstraat is located within the Franciscus Xaveriusschool at Nagtzaamstraat 88 in Haarlem-Oost. This after-school care facility provides space for up to 20 children aged 4 to 12 years. Since January 13, 2017, the location has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 127657319.
Our qualified and enthusiastic childcare professionals are ready every weekday to offer children a safe, familiar and challenging environment after school. We believe that children develop best when they feel comfortable. That is why warmth, attention and structure are central to our approach.
The BSO spaces are located within the school building, ensuring a smooth transition from school to after-school care. Children can come to us directly after school for relaxation, play and development. We provide quiet moments for children who need them, but also sufficient challenges for those who want to release energy.
Our team consists of trained, enthusiastic pedagogical staff who understand how important it is to give children the space to be themselves. We closely follow each child's development and tailor our activities to what the children need. Summary
GGD Kennemerland conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 12 May 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Hero BSO Nagtzaamstraat in Haarlem. The location provides care for 20 children aged 4 to 12 years and is part of Stichting Hero kindercentra. The stable team of two childcare professionals has worked together since 2021 and has been supported by a group assistant since September 2025. The inspection assessed the pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights. All assessed quality requirements are being met. However, several points for attention were identified: the cluster manager was not aware of the correct number of registered childcare places (20 instead of 22), and the limited indoor space offers few opportunities for challenge for older children. The location is starting the DoenKids activity programme in May 2026 to address this. Recruitment of parent committee members is progressing with difficulty; the provider makes use of alternative parent consultation. There are no violations or recovery offers. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
