Hero BSO Bernard Zweersstraat 1 is an after-school care facility located in the heart of Haarlem. We provide care for up to 44 children aged 4 to 12 years. Our team is ready every day to give children a safe, challenging and enjoyable time after school.
We work closely with the Sint Bernardusschool and the Franciscus Xaveriusschool, allowing us to pick up the children directly after school. The location is within walking distance of both schools, making the transition from school to after-school care smooth and familiar.

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 2 September 2025 concludes that the location meets all assessed quality requirements: the pedagogical climate is good, staff are properly registered and coached, and the safety and health policies are in order. There is a pleasant atmosphere, children feel emotionally safe, and staff consciously work on social competencies. However, it was found that no parent committee is still active; this has been a recurring point of attention since 2019. The safety policy contained some incomplete descriptions for outdoor play areas, but the practice-based accountability was sufficient and measures have since been added in writing. Following the previous inspection (September 2024), the holder received a recovery offer; the submitted action plan has now been successfully implemented. The municipality is advised to take no enforcement action.
