ViaViela mediates between parents and professional childminders (gastouders) in a homely, small-scale setting. The agency helps parents find a suitable childminder who matches their wishes and needs, with personal guidance from a fixed contact person in the region. Parents receive support with all administrative matters, can rely on quality monitoring through regular visits to the care location, and have access to a user-friendly online portal for their care administration.

ViaViela has 40 locations spread throughout the Netherlands, with a network of 225 contact persons across the country. The agency mediates childminders in all regions of the Netherlands and has personal contact persons in every region. Parents can always rely on a fixed contact person near them who knows the local area and the childminder network well.

ViaViela and all mediated childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). The agency is inspected annually by the Municipal Health Service (GGD), and childminders receive a GGD inspection at their care location every two years. ViaViela visits childminders at least twice a year to check whether the location meets all safety and hygiene requirements. The agency has an internal complaints procedure in accordance with the Childcare Act and offers parents the possibility to formally submit complaints through an established procedure.
