About this care
De Kinderster Zuid is centrally located in Amsterdam South, right next to the RAI and Beatrixpark. From our daycare center, you have a view of the vibrant city surroundings. We provide professional childcare for children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely and safe environment that feels like a second home.
At De Kinderster Zuid, the development of each child is central. We work daily with a VVE program (Early Childhood Education) to optimally develop the children and prepare them for primary school. Our experienced pedagogical staff guide the children in their individual development and in learning to live together in a group. Each child is assigned a fixed mentor, ensuring there is always a familiar face in the group.
Our location features a large garden where children can fully express themselves. We offer various activities such as yoga and toddler gym, specifically tailored to the age and developmental stage of the children. Babies follow their own rhythm in consultation with the parents, while older children increasingly participate in the group rhythm.
We serve daily organic and warm, fresh meals. Special dietary requirements are of course discussed and incorporated into the menu where possible. Our opening hours are from 07:30 to 18:30, with half-day care available with a minimum of two half-days per week.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 12 August 2025 shows that daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Kinderster Zuid meets all legal quality requirements. The location provides care for a maximum of 23 children in two core groups: Sterretjes (0-2 years) and Zonnetjes (1-4 years). The team consists of four permanent staff members, including one in training. The inspection found a warm pedagogical climate: staff respond sensitively, stimulate language and cognitive development through interactive reading and asking questions. All staff hold a valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG), relevant diplomas and first aid certification. The safety and health policy is in order: hand hygiene is consistently followed, the child abuse reporting code is known and there is always a first-aid-certified staff member present. The spaces are safe and age-appropriately arranged; it was agreed that the home corner of Zonnetjes will be further enriched with more kitchen play items and sorted materials. No violations or recovery offers were issued. The municipality is advised to take note of this report.
