Settling in
The settling-in period consists of 4 days starting from the contract date on the days the parent will be using care. The proposed schedule: 1st settling-in day from 9:00 to 11:00 without parent, 2nd settling-in day from 9:00 to 13:00, 3rd settling-in day from 9:00 to 15:00, 4th settling-in day from 9:00 to 17:00. Progress is discussed directly with the parent and the schedule is adjusted if a child needs more time. Parents are assigned a settling-in coach (often the child's mentor) for questions. Six weeks after the intake interview, there is an evaluation meeting about the wellbeing of both child and parents.
Sick child policy
The daycare center is not equipped to care for sick children. A sick child will be collected if: 1) they are too ill to participate in the daily programme, 2) the care required is too intensive for the childcare staff, 3) they pose a risk to the health of other children, or 4) their fever is above 38.5 degrees. In case of doubt, the child is observed for behavioural changes. Parents are notified at the first signs of illness. In case of acute danger, a doctor is contacted immediately. There are clear agreements about infectious diseases and legally required notifications to the municipal health service (GGD).
