About this care
Welcome to BSO De Geldershof in Lent, part of KION Childcare. We are located in the same building as De Geldershof primary school, allowing children to walk safely and easily to our spacious after-school care facility after classes. The location accommodates up to 120 children aged 4 to 12 years.
Our BSO works closely with RK Primary School De Geldershof. Children can come directly to us after school for a varied program of activities. We utilize both indoor spaces and outdoor areas around the school building, giving children plenty of room to play, discover, and relax.
As part of KION Childcare, we provide a safe and stimulating environment where every child can develop at their own pace. We believe every child is unique and deserves to discover their talents. Our childcare professionals are professionally trained and ensure a warm and familiar environment.
BSO De Geldershof is open on weekdays from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. During school holidays, we offer full-day care with additional activities tailored to children's experiences. We work together with parents to ensure our care meets the needs of each child and family.Read more

Strengths
- The pedagogical policy is clearly present and consistently followed by the team

- Staff-to-child ratios and rules for breaks/study days are applied with precision
- Fixed base groups and a dedicated mentor for each child provide stability and familiarity
Shortcomings
- Several group rooms are minimally furnished; additional play materials and storage furniture are being purchased
- The start of the after-school care (BSO) afternoon used to be restless; moving the fruit snack time and giving children a more active role have improved calmness
Summary
BSO de Geldershof in Lent (120 places, 6 groups for ages 4-13) received an unannounced annual Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection on 12 May 2025. All inspected statutory requirements were met: the pedagogical policy is present and well implemented, staff are properly qualified and deployed according to established ratios, and all Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) checks and PRK registrations are in order. Children experience a safe, stimulating atmosphere; staff provide calm, structure and playful development opportunities. There were no violations. Minor points for attention: several rooms are minimally furnished and the fruit snack time used to be restless; the location has already allocated budget for new materials and adjusted the afternoon programme, which has resulted in greater calm. No recovery offer was needed. The municipality is advised not to take enforcement action.
