About this care
Berenhol after-school care, located at Terracottalaan 1 in Steyl, is part of Spring Kinderopvang and has been a trusted place for children aged 4 to 13 for many years. Since January 1, 2010, the location has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 284727039 and can accommodate up to 60 children.
Our BSO is housed in the Vlaegelke child center, where children can enjoy themselves before and after school. We offer a wide range of activities that match the children's interests. Crafting, making music, playing football, organizing disco parties, building huts, and playing for hours with K’nex are among the daily possibilities. Playing outside with friends is also an important part of our program. Children can eat together or enjoy a quiet moment.
The location features a cozy interior and spacious outdoor area where children can play and move freely. We are known for our personal approach and providing a safe and familiar environment where children can develop at their own pace.

Summary
On 18 May 2026, the Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced follow-up inspection at after-school care (BSO) Berenhol in Steyl, part of Spring Kinderopvang. This inspection followed a shortcoming identified during the annual inspection of 12 March 2026. The shortcoming concerned the failure to consistently keep the childcare persons register and VOG information for bus drivers up to date. The provider resolved this by agreeing to closer contact with the transport company and structurally checking whether drivers hold a valid VOG and are correctly linked. All nine childcare professionals, the manager, pedagogical coach and nine bus drivers hold a valid VOG and are correctly registered. The directors also meet the requirements. All assessed requirements are being met.
