About this care
BSO Wouterland is located at the Wouterland sports complex on Van Haerlemlaan 31 in Castricum. We offer small-scale, active after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 from Cunera primary school. Our location is unique in Castricum: after school, children can not only play and relax, but also get introduced to hockey under the guidance of a professional trainer from the local Mixed Hockey Club Castricum.
We pick up children from school by car, bike or on foot and offer a programme full of movement, creative activities and fun. Our canteen provides space to eat and drink in a relaxed setting, as well as to engage in creative activities. We work with themes, workshops and outings tailored to each child’s age and interests. During school holidays we organise a special holiday programme with fun trips and sports clinics.
As part of Forte Kinderopvang, a social welfare foundation with over 50 years of experience, we are committed to providing a safe, active and stimulating environment. We use the Forte Parent Portal and the Forte app to keep parents informed about their child’s experiences and to allow 24/7 absence reporting. - Safety and health policy did not match practice: no concrete agreements on wearing jewelry during sports activities, and insufficient supervision of children playing outside independently
- Information to parents was not up to date: website still listed hockey lessons that were no longer taking place
- A childcare professional had insufficient knowledge of the reporting, consultation and duty to notify (MOA) in case of suspected transgressive behavior by the holder
Summary
The annual inspection by GGD Hollands Noorden of after-school care (BSO) Wouterland in Castricum, conducted on 16 April 2026, initially revealed three violations that were later resolved. The after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 ultimately meets all assessed conditions. The location operates from the sports canteen of hockey club MHCC and accommodates 30 children. Strong points include correct VOG registration, the established domestic violence reporting code, and good complaint handling. The three identified violations concerned outdated information about hockey lessons in the pedagogical work plan and on the website, and shortcomings in the safety and health policy regarding jewelry during sports and supervision during independent outdoor play. Additionally, a childcare professional was insufficiently familiar with the reporting, consultation and duty to notify. Following a recovery offer, all violations have been lifted. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
