About this care
BSO De Boomhut is located at Sokkerwei 6 in Castricum, inside the Netherlands’ first sustainably built school and the very first ‘Kindcentrum’ of Castricum. We are part of Stichting Forte Kinderopvang and provide before- and after-school care for children aged 4 to 12. The location has room for up to 130 children and works in partnership with Juliana van Stolbergschool, Cunera and Paulusschool. In addition to spacious classrooms we offer a dedicated 7-plus area, a child-friendly kitchen, gym and auditorium. Outside, children play on a well-equipped schoolyard and regularly explore the surrounding neighbourhood. During school holidays we run a Holiday BSO packed with themed activities, sports and games. Our qualified staff tailor the programme to the age and interests of the children, offering everything from sports and swimming to creative workshops and cooking. Summary
After-school care (BSO) De Boomhut in Castricum, part of Forte Kinderopvang, was inspected on 18 June 2026 by GGD Hollands Noorden (Municipal Health Service). The location provides care for 130 children aged 4 to 13 years in 5 core groups. Initially, a violation was identified: the location was registered for 130 childcare places, but due to expansion of the school in which it is housed, there was insufficient indoor play area (only sufficient for 122 children). The location manager responded by submitting a change form to reduce the number of places. Following this recovery offer, all requirements have now been met. Other areas such as pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and accommodation met the requirements immediately.
