About this care
Villa Kakelbont is our after-school care centre located at Zuiderveen 39 in Winschoten. We are part of childcare organisation Hummelstee and welcome up to 30 primary-school children aged 4 to 12.
With us, nothing is compulsory and almost everything is allowed. Children spend their free time here together with friends in a relaxed, homely atmosphere. We offer two clear BSO lines: Nature BSO and Sports BSO. During Nature BSO children are free to build huts, observe animals and insects and discover natural materials. Sports BSO focuses on movement; every four weeks we introduce a new sport such as football, hockey, rugby, tennis, boxing or bootcamp, giving children the chance to try out a wide range of sports and develop their motor skills.
Meals are provided by Herbs & Spices, who cook fresh, seasonal hot meals every weekday without refined sugars, excess salt or E-numbers. We also serve fresh fruit daily and offer water, milk or children’s tea.
Our qualified pedagogical staff create a safe, welcoming environment where children can simply be themselves. Activities are tailored to the world of school-aged children, offering both relaxation and challenge. Summary
The annual inspection of 24 February 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Villa Kakelbont in Winschoten presents a positive picture. The location, housed in a converted farmhouse with 30 childcare places for children aged 4 to 13, meets all assessed statutory requirements. The pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, accommodation and parental rights were all found to be satisfactory. Nature and outdoor life play a central role in the childcare provision. No violations or areas for improvement were identified.
