About this care
Welcome to Thuishuis NiniMini, a small-scale after-school care centre right in the centre of Ter Apel. We are located in the monumental Sint Lucia building at Kapelweg 13, within walking distance of local primary schools. With a maximum of 15 school-age children per group we offer a homely atmosphere where every child is greeted by a familiar face.
Our spacious indoor area is divided into playful corners: a creative craft table, a cosy reading nook and a construction corner where children can explore to their heart’s content. The large outdoor playground gives plenty of room to run, play and romp after school. Every Tuesday we serve a hot meal, giving parents some real relief.
We are open Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. all year round (except public holidays). You pay by the hour and only for the hours you actually use; during holiday weeks when we are closed you pay nothing. There is no waiting list and other opening hours can always be discussed.
Thuishuis NiniMini works with a fixed team of four pedagogical staff – Nienke, Charlene, Harma and Kimberly – who are present on fixed days as much as possible. This way every child knows exactly who is there when, creating a familiar routine. Personal contact with parents is just as important to us as the children’s enjoyment.
Feel free to drop by for an informal visit or contact Nienke Woldhuis (06-12339345 / nienkewoldhuis@hotmail.com) to arrange a meeting.Read more

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection report dated 25 September 2025 for Thuishuis NiniMini in Ter Apel, an after-school care (BSO) facility for 15 children, presents a predominantly positive picture. The location meets most quality requirements. Three shortcomings were identified for which a recovery offer was issued: the pedagogical policy plan incorrectly stated a group size of 17 rather than 15 children; there was insufficient evidence that two staff members met the IKK language requirement; and inspection reports were missing from the website. The operator corrected all shortcomings within the set deadline. The pedagogical practice, safety and health, staffing, and parent participation all meet statutory requirements. The GGD advises no enforcement action.
