BSO 't Kempken

BSO 't Kempken is located at a quiet, central spot on Ursulastraat 2 in Harreveld and is part of De Kinderboerderij B.V. We provide after-school care for up to 32 children aged 4 to 12. Our spacious premises include a large living area of 83.5 m² and a separate youth room of 36.9 m², allowing children from lower and upper primary school to play and relax in age-based groups. After school, children first have time to land: a biscuit and a drink are waiting. Then they choose what they want to do. All materials are openly displayed so they can make independent choices. Drawing, building, PlayStation, board games or a visit to the gym are all options. Every day we also go outside; our outdoor area is equipped with play equipment and offers plenty of space to run, cycle or build huts. Our pedagogical plan is designed to support children’s development through play. We stimulate motor, cognitive, language and creative skills and teach children to function increasingly independently. At the same time, we focus on social skills: we guide children in their interactions, agree on manners and teach them to treat each other respectfully. This creates close-knit groups of friends who also meet each other at school outside the after-school care. BSO 't Kempken uses a horizontal group structure: lower school (4-7 years) and upper school (8-12 years) sit separately, but can play together during quiet moments. Our pedagogical staff know every child and tailor activities to interest and energy levels. We are open Monday to Thursday and on days with more than 22 children we work with three supervisors, ensuring plenty of personal attention. In short, at BSO 't Kempken children find a familiar place to play, relax and grow together after school.
