About this care
Welcome to Roetsj childcare located at Heemraadssingel 169 in the heart of Rotterdam. Our modern building with over 300 m² of play space is a safe haven for curious explorers aged 4 to 12 years. The after-school care consists of two groups with a total capacity of 27 children. The small scale of our BSO offers many advantages: children see the same familiar faces every day, receive plenty of personal attention, and everyone knows each other.
Every day is filled with energy here. We offer a program full of outdoor adventures in the nearby Vroesenpark and creative workshops in our bright studio space. From 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM we provide a day full of color where every child can write their own story. We have deliberately chosen a homely atmosphere that contributes to relaxation after a busy school day.
Our pedagogical vision revolves around freedom within safety: we encourage independence with a nod to nature. The groups are horizontally arranged by age, so every child feels at home among peers. We work with warm, personal guidance and pay great attention to the unique character of each child.
Roetsj childcare is open 52 weeks a year, except for recognized public holidays. We are officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 296504099, allowing parents to apply for childcare allowance.Read more

The pedagogical climate is experienced positively: children feel safe and are playfully challenged in their development. The staff is well-trained, works according to policy, and occupancy is in order. The safety and health policy is also well adhered to. There is one point for improvement: not all staff members knew that they could contact the confidential inspector in case of suspected abuse or mistreatment by the holder. The location took immediate action by visibly posting the phone number and discussing the topic again in a team meeting. The GGD advises the municipality to enforce, as the violation must not recur.

I did not see the inside of this daycare centre but definitely a 5-star+ just for the exterior alone. What a magnificent building and surrounding.
