Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Rotterdam-Rijnmond conducted an unannounced incidental inspection on 13 July 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Ontdekrijk in Capelle aan den IJssel. The operator, gro-up Kinderopvang B.V., submitted a request to increase the number of childcare places from 27 to 32. The inspection showed that the accommodation does not provide sufficient indoor space for 32 childcare places; a maximum of 31 places is possible. The pedagogical policy, safety and health policy, and accommodation requirements were otherwise found to be in order. The location manager adjusted the pedagogical work plan to 31 places during the inspection. The GGD advises the municipality to implement the change to 31 childcare places and reject the request for 32 places.
