Summary

Multiple violations were identified at the after-school care (BSO) location Kinderdagverblijf JoesBoef in Amsterdam during an unannounced annual inspection on 4 May 2026. Pedagogical practice was insufficient: staff provided too little structure, communicated too directive, inadequately corrected unwanted behavior, and insufficiently stimulated social skills. The group rooms were also not properly set up and the furniture was not age-appropriate. Furthermore, staff were insufficiently aware of children's allergies, a first-aid-qualified person was not always present, and during the regular staff member's break, two trainee childcare workers were working alone at the location, which is not permitted. Following a recovery offer, all violations have been resolved. At the second visit on 16 June 2026, pedagogical practice was sufficient, staff were well informed about allergies, the layout had been improved, and the staffing and first aid issues had been resolved.
