About this care
Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of IKC St. Walfridus, located at Bazuinslaan 2 in the heart of Bedum. As part of the integrated child center St. Walfridus, we provide care for children aged 4 to 13, both after school hours, on study days and during school holidays. Our BSO is located in the same building as the primary school, allowing children to play, relax and develop in a familiar environment.
We work from a clear vision based on Catholic-social values and the principles of Dalton education: cooperation, independence and reflection. These values are reflected in our care, where children learn to take responsibility for their own choices and activities. We offer a safe and familiar place where children can be themselves and discover their talents.
Our BSO has room for up to 30 children. Care is provided Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. We are also open on study days and during school holidays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The pedagogical staff of IKC St. Walfridus are ready to give the children a great afternoon with activities that match their interests and developmental level.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspected after-school care (BSO) IKC St. Walfridus in Bedum on 16 June 2026. This was a follow-up investigation into the 'parental rights' item, which was not met during the annual inspection of 12 February 2026. The location provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 30 children aged 4 to 12 years in a classroom with play corners and a play attic. The previous inspection found that parents had been insufficiently involved in planned advisory matters, particularly regarding the 2026 fee adjustment. The organisation had switched to a 'Prim eniusraad' but had not consulted parents. This follow-up inspection found that the location now meets the legal requirements. Emails were sent to parents about expanding care options and changes to the pedagogical policy, with feedback requested. The alternative consultation process has not yet been completed but is expected to be finalised before the summer holiday.
