BSO Piccolo is part of Stichting Humankind and provides after-school care at Meindert Hobbemastraat 37 in Enschede. We welcome children aged 4 to 12 and are open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30. Our spacious indoor and outdoor areas give children room to be themselves—there is always something to do and discover. Summary
An incident investigation was conducted at after-school care (BSO) Piccolo in Enschede following a mouse infestation at nearby locations. The operator voluntarily closed the childcare location from 13 to 18 February 2026. After professional cleaning and re-inspection, mouse droppings were still found on 17 February and were subsequently removed. The location was able to reopen safely on 18 February 2026. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) concludes that safe childcare is possible, but emphasises the importance of structural prevention and monitoring.
