About this care
BSO de Horizon is located in the same modern building as Openbare Daltonbasisschool De Horizon at Pieter Calandlaan 768A in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. We provide after-school care on weekdays from 07:30 to 18:30. Because our BSO is situated inside the school, children can walk straight to us safely after classes.
Our after-school care is set up on a small and manageable scale, offering calm and clarity for every child. We work closely with the primary school and align our activities and care with school hours and the children’s well-being. There is one BSO group for children aged 4 to 12.
We believe it is important that children can relax and develop after school. After a long day in the classroom, they have space at our BSO to play, explore and take part in activities together. Summary
BSO de Horizon in Amsterdam, part of Stichting Humankind, was inspected by GGD Amsterdam on 24 April 2026. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates 40 children aged 4 to 13 years. The pedagogical climate and personnel policy meet legal requirements well. One violation was identified in the area of food safety: the childcare professional did not know the maximum refrigerator temperature, was unaware of applicable storage periods for opened products, and products in the refrigerator were not labelled. Following a recovery offer, the location has taken measures: work instructions have been discussed in team meetings, products are now coded, forms have been visibly posted, the manager carries out periodic checks, and the thermometer has been checked. The violation has therefore been closed. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to impose any measures.
