About this care
Hildegaert BSO is part of Hildegaert Kindcentrum, located at Debussylaan 11 in Rotterdam. Since 1 July 2024 we offer integrated toddler care, primary education and out-of-school care under one roof for all Hildegaert children. Our after-school facility has room for up to 154 children aged 4 to 12.
We are convinced that children develop best in a safe, secure environment where every child is seen, heard and understood. Our qualified pedagogical staff therefore work every day to create an atmosphere in which children can play, explore and grow with confidence. In the groups we teach children in a playful way how to treat each other with respect, kindness and helpfulness; we naturally set the right example ourselves.
Our out-of-school care dovetails seamlessly with school hours. For before-school care (VSO) we are open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 07:15 to 08:30; a minimum of five sessions per week applies. After school we welcome the children in familiar groups that offer each child a comfortable place to play, learn and relax together.

Summary
The annual inspection of 28 July 2026 at Hildegaert BSO in Rotterdam shows that the after-school care (BSO) meets all assessed quality requirements. The location provides care for 154 children aged 4 to 13 years in six base groups. The pedagogical policy is described in detail and implemented in practice, with attention to child participation, mentor structure, and emotional safety. Staffing and groups are in order: all staff have the correct paperwork, the staff-to-child ratio is correct, and a pedagogical policy officer/coach is deployed. Safety and health are also well arranged, including an active designated officer for the reporting code on domestic violence and child abuse. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The municipality of Rotterdam previously issued a warning at provider level due to violations at multiple locations, but this location itself fully complies. The advice to the Municipal Executive is: no enforcement action.
