About this care
Funtazia International Child Care is a bilingual (English/Dutch) after-school care centre located on the campus of Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam at Verhulstlaan 21 in Hillegersberg. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12 on weekdays from 14:45 to 18:30 and from 12:00 on Wednesdays. During school holidays we run a holiday programme from 8:00 to 17:00/18:30 following the NAISR holiday calendar.
Our BSO enjoys outstanding facilities: bright, spacious classrooms, a fully equipped gym, music room, library and four outdoor playgrounds. Children can play sports, explore and create under the guidance of our caring, professional staff. We support homework, organise creative and physical activities and foster a safe, home-like atmosphere where every child feels welcome.
Operating in an international environment is central to Funtazia. Our team of 15 nationalities encourages children to practise both English and Dutch and teaches them to embrace different cultures in a playful way. A healthy, warm lunch and nutritious snacks are freshly prepared on site each day by our catering partner, giving children the energy they need after school.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced follow-up investigation on 22 September 2026 at Stichting Funtazia International Child Care, a bilingual after-school care (BSO) facility for children aged 4 to 13 in Rotterdam. The investigation focused on quality requirements that were found to be non-compliant during an earlier investigation on 5 February 2026. All seven assessed topics are now in accordance with the law: pedagogical policy, qualification requirements, deployment of pedagogical policy staff, use of the language of instruction, safety and health policy, reporting, consultation and mandatory notification obligations, and information to parents. The location has implemented improvements, including revision of the pedagogical policy, deployment of only qualified coaches, additional Dutch-speaking staff, a hand hygiene protocol, and online training for staff members. The GGD advises the municipality of Rotterdam not to apply enforcement measures.
