About this care
Welcome to Groen After-School Care at Overweg 11 in Obdam. We are part of Groen Kinderopvang, the green childcare provider for Obdam and the surrounding area. For us, “green” stands for healthy food, nature experience, exercise and sustainability.
Our after-school care is designed for children aged 4 to 12 who love spending their free time outdoors. We offer a safe, familiar place where children can relax, play and explore after school. With a maximum of twenty children per day we keep things small-scale and personal. Our qualified pedagogical staff are ready to give your child a great afternoon, with room for both free initiative and guided activities.
Being outside is at the heart of our programme. We make full use of our large nature garden and the immediate surroundings of Obdam. In a playful way children learn about seasons, plants and animals while staying active and burning off energy. Healthy food is part of the deal: fresh fruit, whole-grain bread and water or tea are always available.
We work together with all primary schools in Obdam and pick the children up after school. We are also open during study days and school holidays, so you can always rely on us. Feel free to drop by for a tour and experience for yourself how pleasant our green after-school care is!Read more

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 10 December 2024 at Groen after-school care (BSO) in Obdam. The after-school care (BSO) provides before- and after-school care for children aged 4 to 6 years in a combination group with the daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV). Since September 2024, this has been a combined KDV/BSO group for children aged 3 to 5 years. All assessed conditions regarding pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and accommodation were met. The staff-to-child ratio was in accordance with the rules, all staff were correctly registered in the Childcare Personnel Register, and the spaces met the requirements. The only administrative note is that the number of childcare places in the National Childcare Register (LRK) must be adjusted from 20 to 8 due to the new combination group structure.
