Summary

GGD Amsterdam conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 13 February 2026 at Fier Mees, an after-school care location (BSO+) in Amsterdam-West for up to 10 children aged 4 to 13 with additional support needs. The location meets all inspected quality requirements. The staff provide a safe, stable and structured environment with fixed routines, timers and learning objectives. There is a protocol for anger and aggression, and every child has a mentor. The organisation is in the process of reviewing its policy cycle and establishing a staff academy. One point of attention was that one staff member did not know the step-by-step plan for missing children exactly; this was discussed afterwards and explained again. No violations were identified and no recovery offer was made.
