About this care
Welcome to BSO De Witte Tovertuin Bad Nieuweschans, located in Dorpscentrum De Akkerschans at Bunderweg 14. We provide a trusted, child-friendly and high-quality after-school care service where your child feels safe and at home. Our location has room for up to 10 children aged 4 to 12.
We pick up and drop off your child using our own transport. Our regular drivers are easily recognisable on the school playground in their yellow jackets, so your child always knows who to expect. All our childcare professionals are experienced, qualified and hold a valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG), first aid for children (EHAK) and emergency response (BHV) certificate. They are also trained in the reporting code for child abuse.

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspected the after-school care (BSO) De Witte Tovertuin Bad Nieuweschans on 17 June 2025. The inspection was unannounced and focused on aspects that could not yet be fully assessed during registration. All evaluated areas (pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, accommodation and parental rights) meet statutory requirements. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The location provides responsible care for up to 10 children aged 4 to 13 years in two spaces in the village centre De Akkermans. The pedagogical policy is clear and well implemented: children experience emotional safety, are playfully challenged and learn social skills. All staff hold a valid Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), the correct qualifications and meet the language requirement. The staff-child ratio is in order and each child has a fixed mentor. Safety and health policy, domestic violence reporting protocol and complaints procedure are in place and up to date. Parents are well informed via website, newsletters and intake. The municipality was advised not to take enforcement action.
