About this care
KION after-school care De Spil is located on the grounds of Primary School De Spil in the green Weezenhof district of Nijmegen. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 who attend this primary school.
After school, relaxation begins. First we eat and drink together with friends. Then each child chooses what they want to do. In our challenging play areas you can read a book in the reading corner, build towers in the construction corner, draw or craft in the creative corner, or play in the home corner. We arrange the materials in a way that immediately invites children to get started.
We play outside on the primary school's kindergarten playground. We offer a wide range of activities, so there's plenty to do for every age. Our pedagogical staff love letting children discover where their interests lie. We work from KION's pedagogical policy, which provides space for individual choices and development.
Our opening hours are weekdays from 7:30-8:30 AM and 2:00-6:00 PM. During school holidays we are open from 8:00 AM-6:00 PM.Read more

Summary
GGD Gelderland-Zuid conducted an annual inspection on 29 January 2026 at after-school care (BSO) De Spil in Nijmegen. The after-school care, located in a shared building with the Prins Clausschool, accommodates 20 children aged 4 to 7. The provider KION Kinderopvang B.V. meets all quality requirements examined. The pedagogical practice is good: staff create emotional safety, stimulate autonomy and social development, and work with clear, recognisable rules. Personnel matters, first aid qualifications, and administration are in order. A recovery offer following the registration investigation (March 2025) concerned coat rack space and toilet facilities; this has been resolved. During this inspection, coats on the floor was identified as a point of attention. No new violations were identified.
