About this care
Welcome to BSO De Speelboerderij, located at Ellenbroekweg 12 in Sint Isidorushoeve, municipality of Haaksbergen. Our after-school care is part of the small-scale childcare facility De Speelboerderij, where quality and personal attention for your child are our top priorities. We provide care for 24 school-age children from 4 to 12 years old in a unique rural setting, surrounded by nature.
Our BSO is housed in a spacious, atmospheric room with direct access to a large outdoor area. Here children can cycle, ride go-karts and play with pedal tractors. Additionally, there is a separate grass field where they can run and romp to their heart's content. We work exclusively with qualified childcare professionals who have an affinity for small-scale care in a farm environment.
Animals and nature are central to our program. The children help care for the farm animals and learn in a playful way about life in the countryside. We have a vegetable garden where they can grow and harvest their own fruits and vegetables. Indoors we have a creative craft corner and plenty of toys for different age groups.
At lunchtime we eat sandwiches together and in the evening there is the option to join us for a hot meal. We are open 51 weeks a year, except for the week between Christmas and New Year. Our opening hours are aligned with school hours in the region.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Twente conducted an unannounced follow-up inspection on 1 June 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Kinderopvang de Speelboerderij in Haaksbergen. This inspection followed previous violations from October 2025, for which a written order and a municipal directive had been issued. The inspection focused on pedagogical policy, safety and health, accommodation, and parental rights. The provider has remedied all shortcomings: the pedagogical policy plan and work plan have been fully revised with external support, the safety and health policy has been updated with concrete risk descriptions and action plans, and the outdoor space has been secured with fencing along the ditch, removal of the broken trampoline, screening of the electric fence, and a new entrance gate. The private garden has been brought back into use under conditions. All assessed conditions are now being met.
