Summary

This is the first inspection visit since the opening of after-school care (BSO) De Ooievaar Vroondaal-GDA in Den Haag. The after-school care is located on a sports facility and accommodates up to 40 children aged 4-13. The pedagogical practice is satisfactory: staff are sensitive and responsive, support children during conflicts, and guide activities in a stimulating manner. Staff qualifications, accommodation, and parent information are also in order. However, three violations were identified: missing components in the pedagogical policy plan, incomplete description of the deployment of pedagogical policy staff, and shortcomings in the safety and health policy. The latter concerned alcohol use in the sports canteen during care hours, failure to take the first aid kit on outings, and a missing action plan. All violations were resolved via recovery offer within the deadline.
