Summary

GGD Kennemerland conducted an unannounced post-registration inspection on 10 November 2025 at after-school care (BSO) De Kameleon Op Stoom in Zwanenburg. The after-school care accommodates 44 children aged 4 to 12 years at Community school De Kameleon. The pedagogical approach and working methods of the staff are positive: there is attention to emotional safety, personal and social competence, and norms and values. Staff and groups, accommodation, and parental rights also comply with legislation and regulations. There were two areas where requirements were initially not met: the pedagogical policy lacked concrete descriptions of the age structure of base groups and activities where children leave the group; and in the area of safety and health, children played with loose materials (horse harnesses) near high play equipment, which posed risks of serious injury, and soap and hand towels were missing from the outdoor toilet. The holder made use of both recovery offers and the shortcomings have been resolved. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
