About this care
BSO De Buitenkans / Regenboog is located in the Scouting Baden Powell building at Albert Cuypstraat 1D in Venlo and is part of Stichting ISTIA. We provide anthroposophical after-school care for up to 30 children aged 4 to 12. Our pedagogical environment is warm, homely, and gives children space to develop at their own pace.
Our opening hours follow the school calendar. During school weeks we are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM and Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. For before-school care (VSO) we are open Thursday and Friday from 7:15 AM to 8:30 AM. On study days and during holidays we have extended opening hours, except for three weeks during summer holidays and one week during Christmas holidays.
We work with fixed contracts where parents can choose care including or excluding holiday and study days. Our pedagogical staff guide children in creative activities, outdoor play and quiet moments. The location has a garden and playground where children can move freely and explore.

Summary
BSO De Buitenkans / Regenboog in Venlo, part of ISTIA Kinderopvang B.V., was inspected on 24 November 2025. This after-school care (BSO) accommodates 22 children (ages 6-12) in a scouting building. The annual inspection showed that the location meets all assessed requirements in the domains of pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health. The pedagogical practice is characterized by a relaxed atmosphere, freedom of choice for children, and attention to emotional safety. A notable safety finding concerned three large meat knives in a kitchen drawer within reach of children. The childcare professionals immediately placed these out of reach and are making agreements with the scouting organization about safe storage. No violations were identified. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement.
