About this care
BSO De Ark is part of Kindcentrum De Ark in Schagen, located at Vincent van Goghlaan 2. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12. The BSO is open 52 weeks a year from 07:30 to 18:30; on request care can start at 07:00. During school holidays we run a varied holiday programme with fun trips and activities.
Our qualified staff collect the children after school from the connected primary schools and bring them to our familiar location. The rooms are set up with different corners where children can play freely, build, craft or read quietly. We devote a lot of attention to outdoor play and exercise; in bad weather we use the school gym.
We work closely with the schools within the Kopwerk foundation, keeping lines short and ensuring children see the same faces all week. Summary
BSO de Ark in Schagen, part of Kappio, was inspected by GGD Hollands Noorden on 20 January 2026. The annual inspection shows that the location meets all assessed requirements. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates a maximum of 20 children aged 4 to 13 years in one base group, located in primary school de Ark. The pedagogical practice is rated positively: children are greeted enthusiastically, attention is paid to individual development, and daily outdoor playtime is provided. The staff-to-child ratio is in order and safety measures, including backup supervision arrangements and paediatric first aid, are well arranged. This inspection followed a follow-up investigation in January 2026, after a recovery offer in May 2025 had not been acted upon. The shortcomings in the area of pedagogical policy and space requirements have since been remedied.

Een zeer goede basisschool met een zeer betrokken team. Binnenkort ook in een nieuw gebouw en dat heeft dit team hartstikke verdiend!
