About this care
BSO de Tuimelaars is part of Stichting Kinderopvang KiWi and is located in Kindcentrum De Tweemaster at Piet Heinlaan 19 in Winschoten. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 years in a familiar and green environment. Our location features a spacious green square where children can play and explore to their heart's content.
As part of Kindcentrum De Tweemaster, we work closely with Dalton Kindcentrum de Tweemaster and KDV De Trompetvisjes. This collaboration makes it possible for children from 0 to 13 years to access both education and childcare within one location. This integrated approach ensures a smooth transition between school and after-school care.
Our BSO accommodates up to 30 children and is officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 426759631. We are known for our homely atmosphere and the green character of our location. The green square offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor play and nature experience, which aligns with our vision of childcare.
During school holidays, we collaborate with other KiWi locations in the region, such as BSO De Lepelaars, to organize joint holiday care. This allows children from different schools to enjoy a varied holiday program together.Read more

Strengths
- Staff members hold valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) certificates and are registered in the childcare personnel register
- Staff members meet the training requirements and IKK language requirement
- A qualified first aider is always present
- Children are cared for in stable base groups with a fixed mentor
- Parents are informed about the base group and assigned staff members
Violations
- The pedagogical policy contained no concrete considerations regarding the staff-to-child ratio
- The 3-hour rule was insufficiently described (framework was missing, no mention of minimum half of staff members)
- Staff members had no access to the pedagogical work plan and location guide, preventing them from working in accordance with policy
- Staff-to-child ratio was temporarily not met on 17 March 2026 (temporarily 1 staff member per group with 19 and 14 children)
Summary
The annual inspection by GGD Groningen of after-school care (BSO) de Tuimelaars in Winschoten, conducted on 24 March 2026, presents a mixed picture. The location meets the requirements for staff and groups and safety and health. However, there were shortcomings in the pedagogical climate regarding the pedagogical policy. The provider lacked concrete considerations on the staff-to-child ratio and the 3-hour rule was incorrectly described. Staff members also had no access to the pedagogical work plan and location guide. Following a recovery offer, the provider revised the policy and demonstrated that staff members are now familiar with it. There was an incident on 17 March 2026 where the staff-to-child ratio was temporarily not met, but the provider was able to demonstrate that there were ultimately 3 staff members present for 33 children. The GGD advises no enforcement action.
