Welcome to De Spelende Kinderopvang – BSO Korvelplein, our welcoming after-school care in the heart of Tilburg South. We provide a trusted place where children aged 4 to 12 can play, discover and grow after school. Our location at Diepenstraat 97 is specially designed to connect with the world of school-going children.
Play is central to everything we do. We believe that through play, children learn to deal with emotions, come up with solutions and discover the world around them. Our pedagogical staff create a safe environment where every child can be themselves and develop into independent, social and creative individuals. We accommodate up to 44 children, working with small groups to ensure personal attention.
Our BSO is part of De Spelende Kinderopvang, a young and dynamic organization that has been providing professional childcare in Tilburg since 2004. We use our own parent app to keep you daily informed about your child's activities and development. We tailor activities to the wishes and needs of the children, where fun and development go hand in hand.

Strengths
- Pedagogical climate: staff act in accordance with the pedagogical policy plan and offer children freedom in their choices
- Personnel and groups: all staff members hold valid declarations of conduct (VOG), have appropriate qualifications, and meet the language requirement
- Accommodation: more than adequate indoor and outdoor play space (3.6 m² indoor and 8 m² outdoor per child)
- Safety: good reporting code for domestic violence and child abuse; staff are well informed about their duty to report, consult, and file official reports
- First aid: a qualified staff member is always present

- Play areas were initially sparsely furnished and not challenging for the target group; this was improved after consultation with additional play materials, furniture, and accessories

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an annual inspection on 6 July 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Korvelplein of De Spelende Kinderopvang in Tilburg. The after-school care accommodates 44 children (ages 4–13) in three base groups. Overall, the location meets the quality requirements well. One violation was identified in the area of safety and health: a staff member wore long painted nails while preparing fruit for the children, contrary to the hygiene policy. Following a recovery offer, this issue was resolved; at the second visit on 1 September 2026, no staff member was wearing nail polish anymore. The accommodation more than meets the requirements, although the play areas were initially sparsely furnished. These were improved after consultation. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
