About this care
BSO De Boomhut is located in the De Plataan broad school at Bachstraat 47 in Elst. We provide after-school care for up to 44 children aged 4 to 12 years. Our team of qualified childcare professionals is ready every day to give children a warm welcome after school.
Play is central to our approach. We offer a cozy space where children can play, build, read, craft, and draw. There's a delightful doll corner and a large kitchen where we regularly organize creative activities. We believe that after a long school day, children need both rest and relaxation as well as challenge and fun.
Our childcare professionals take time for each child. We provide emotional safety and a homely atmosphere where children can be themselves. Respect for autonomy is paramount: children can choose whether to participate in activities or relax on the couch with a book. We organize activities that multiple children can join, allowing them to develop social skills through play.

BSO De Boomhut in Elst, part of Skar BV, was inspected unannounced by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) on 17 August 2026. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates a maximum of 44 children aged 4 to 12 years. During the inspection visit, BSO De Toffe Peer was also accommodated across locations. The inspection assessed the topics of pedagogical climate and staff and groups. The provider meets the statutory requirements for both areas. The pedagogical practice showed strong points: staff act in a sensitive and responsive manner, give children room for self-direction, and actively guide them in social interactions. All staff and the pedagogical policy officer hold appropriate qualifications and meet the language proficiency requirement. The pedagogical policy officer is structurally deployed for coaching and policy development. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
