About this care
BSO Achilles '12 is a lively after-school care centre located at Oude Bornseweg 101, Hengelo, on the 't Wilbert sports complex. We welcome up to 22–23 children aged 4–13. Housed in the former clubhouse of football club Achilles ’12, our programme centres on sport, play, freedom and flexibility. After school, children can let off steam in a safe, sporty environment. With the club’s pitches and facilities right outside the door, there is plenty of space for outdoor games and exercise. Together with our qualified staff, children decide how they want to spend their afternoon: playing football, running, climbing or simply enjoying a drink in the canteen. We work closely with the sports club and make full use of its amenities, ensuring that sport and play are always within reach. GGD Twente conducted an annual inspection on 26 May 2026 at BSO Achilles '12 in Hengelo, an after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 13 with 22 places. The location meets all assessed conditions in the areas of pedagogical climate, staff, and groups. The pedagogical practice is assessed positively: there is a warm atmosphere, staff members respond adequately to children, and there is a varied range of activities. One point of attention is that substitute staff had not read the location-specific work plan, although they had digital access and kept in contact with permanent staff via WhatsApp. The assurance of knowledge among substitute staff is vulnerable. No violations were identified and no recovery offer was made.
